Great news from Nicaragua
Hi Folks!
We have had some great news from Nicaragua this morning.
In TWO parts:
The first good news is that the money is now IN OUR ACCOUNT.
The SECOND good news is that Puerto Cabezas is now OFFICIALLY an airport of entry. I called ONA (the Nicaraguan Control Agency?) and verified this for myself earlier this morning.
What a blessing from God these two things are, rejoice with us!
What that means to us, and our mission:
1
The money being in our account means that as soon as the Annual Inspection is complete on the Aztec, we can fly it to Nicaragua. Further than that it means, to us and our mission, that although the government of Nicaragua (like most governments) has sort of "dragged their feet" they TRULY ARE behind what we and the greater Church of God is trying to accomplish in Nicaragua and Central America.
This of course is a multi-pronged mission of spiritual ministering, education and air ambulance work in La Moskitia and the rest of Nicaragua. (http://www.casadeservicio.org/) It is gratifying that the GOVERNMENT of Nicaragua recognizes the value our mission to its people. The government of Nicaragua not only recognizes our missions value, but actually puts its money where its "mouth" is. What a blessing for us, that even the government of Nicaragua sees that God is in this. There are powerful forces at work in Nicaragua and we are grateful and humbled to be amongst these people, at this time in Nicaragua's history.
2
The fact that Puerto Cabezas is now an official "port of entry" means that when our mission necessitates a trip outside of Nicaragua we can leave directly from Puerto Cabezas, and bypass Managua. The requirement for us to come and go in Nicaragua ONLY through Managua is burdensome because Managua is about an hour and a half away (by air). So because of this new designation in Puerto Cabezas we can NOW come and go, to and from Nicaragua, from our "home" in Puerto Cabezas. Carolyn and I were leaping with joy upon receiving and verifying THIS news!
What a dual Christmas present this is to Carolyn and I and the people of La Moskitia.
Please join us in prayer that the mechanic who is scheduled to work on the Aztec's annual inspection (Dave) has an opening in his schedule more quickly! Currently the Aztec is scheduled to BEGIN its annual on December 31rst (happens to be my birthday too!...grin). We PRAY, heartily and earnestly that Dave will find a way to complete the inspection more quickly! Thank you Jesus!
Dios le bendiga grandemente a su familia y ministerio.
