tired....but content.
I started to write "tired but happy", but didn't want to be untruthful about it.....grin!
I was in Church over here at the Full Gospel Assembly of God church in Spring Hill, Florida on Wednesday night...just attending services with my Uncle, my new Aunt and their Pastor (Pastor Hogan).
Pastor Hogan was making the "announcements" and what have you and surprised me by asking me to stand up and say a few words about our missionary work. I wasn't prepared of course, but stood up to say a few words, about how grateful we are to the people that have supported us with their prayers and their financial blessings.
I said something like "being a missionary is sometimes like riding a roller-coaster, there are ups and downs, hills and valleys. You know when you are "riding high" on top the coaster that you should be wary of "ole slewfoot" making an appearance, and when you are in the lowest of the low valleys of the "coaster" you know that God is FIRMLY at your side!"
I think I then said....I believe that God if FIRMLY at our sides right now!
I guess with the preparations for our permanent move to Nicaragua that I have been feeling a bit "blue".
There have been many, many changes in our lives since we bought a "ticket" on this ride! Carolyn and I have given up our jobs as professional pilots, we have rented out our house and divested ourselves of almost ALL of our "belongings".
So far it has been worth every sacrifice. The sacrifices that WE have made, and the ones that our supporters have made too! There are lots of good people that believe in this mission to La Moskitia and that God desires our presence there. As Carolyn and I often say, if God weren't in it, WE would SURE NOT be in it either!
Things are progressing. There have been "shipping problems" with the RV (donated) that may delay us bringing IT to Nicaragua with us.
It doesn't really matter. If Carolyn and I have to show up with a suitcase and a vision, WE WILL. The "things" aren't important, it is God's mission that overrules ALL.
Keep us in your prayers folks, please.
Dios le bendiga grandemente a su familia y ministerio.
