Lake Worth, Florida
The bible tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil...not money itself, but our lust for this medium of exchange. I believe that.
But where do we, as human beings get this instatiable desire for "more", our love of money? What is the root of this fascination with wealth in the human character? I think that the root of this fascination can be attributed to ego. We as human being have HUGE egos, and therefore somehow think we are entitled to "more". Perhaps the ultimate indulgence of our human frailty is to indulge ourselves in ego-gratification. If a person "curbs" their ego, "reins it in" so to speak...they will have a better and more fulfilling life. I have found the bible, the living Word of God, to be an effective tool to begin to rein this self-centeredness in. Read, read, read...I encourage each of us to read the Bible.
We are meeting with the congregation of the Lake Worth Church of God this morning. Pastor Cardinal Nesbitt has invited Carolyn and I to share our mission with them. We are excited about this opportunity. Pastor Nesbitt is interested in aviation, and God and missions! My kind of guy, eh?
Tony Potter has begun the process of forming the "wing team" committee. The wing team will be used to raise funds for our mission while we are IN Nicaragua. Primarily the committee will raise funds for the purchase of the aircraft to be used in the small villages of La Moskitia. Anyone that is interested in devoting some time to a good cause can contact Tony through our website, and he will fill you in on all the details.
We are expecting to be able to leave for Managua sometime during the first week of next month. We anticipate being in Managua for two months before making the final move to Puerto Cabezas on the east coast of Nicaragua.
Please keep our mission in your prayers.
