The things we say, in passing

I was walking to the car from dinner last week with two women. The two were talking, and I really wasn't paying much attention (a male trait?) but something one of them said caught my ear. Apparently the two had been discussing Heaven, and things of that nature (you have to love being in fellowship with Godly people, eh?).

The first lady turned to the second one and said "sometimes I just get SO mad at Eve"!

Well, I have to tell you, I was a bit flabbergasted at first... Could a person really be thinking that the responsibility for the predicament of mankind's soul, and the necessity of salvation through Grace could be laid upon Eve's shoulders? Now, in fairness, I know the lady that made the statement very well and I know that her Christian doctrine IS biblically sound, always. She made this statement in passing, as a cute way of expressing her lament over humanities being evicted from Eden, paradise. But the cute little joke, DID make me think.

Have you ever heard anyone make a statement like that? What did it make YOU think of? What do YOU think of this "innocent" little remark?

I need to pass on to you once again that Carolyn and I have the opportunity to share our mission on July 1rst in the Waynesboro, Tennessee area. If anyone wants to come along... write me a note, and I'll send you directions and contact information.

I was fortunate enough to receive and email from Pastor Ed, over in Anderson, SC this last week. I think we will be meeting with him soon to talk about La Miskitia. Pastor Ed has been blessed to actually make the trip to the La Miskitia region and see for himself the needs there. Please keep our journey in prayer as we make contact with this Christian "warrior".

Dios le bendiga grandemente a su familia y ministerio.
